3) Setup Your Profile

Your profile is how your family learns about you at a glance. Filling it out makes it easier for everyone to pick gifts you’ll actually love.

Go to Profile Setup

Profile details you can add
  • Role (Parent or Child) – determines what you can see and manage in the family.
  • Family / Household – connects you to the right group so your wishlists show up for the right people.
  • Birthday & Anniversary – used to highlight important dates so your family sees what’s coming up next.
  • Avatar – pick a default, choose from the gallery, or upload a photo so people can quickly recognize you.
  • Sizes – shirt, pants, and shoe sizes help gift-givers buy clothes that actually fit.
  • Favorites – list your hobbies, sports, favorite stores, and websites to give everyone easy gift ideas.
  • Private Notes (Parents only) – parents can store extra notes about children that kids won’t see, but other parents can use when shopping.
Why this matters
  • Your details drive the reminders and “Coming Up Next” sections for your family.
  • Sizes and favorites keep people from guessing and buying things you won’t use.
  • Parents can manage and update child profiles as things change over time.
  • You can come back to this page anytime to update your info as your interests change.
After you save your profile, you can visit your profile page to review everything. If approval is required, you’ll still be able to see your own profile while it’s pending.
4) Create & Use Wishlists

Once your profile is set up, the next step is to create wishlists. Wishlists tell your family what you’d actually like to receive and help avoid duplicate or unwanted gifts.

How to add wishlist items
  1. Go to your profile page after logging in.
  2. Open your wishlist area or tab.
  3. Use the “Add” button to create a new wishlist item.
  4. Fill in the item name, optional details (size, color, links, notes, etc.).
  5. Save the item. It will appear on your wishlist for your family to see.
What to include in an item
  • Item name – what you want (e.g., “Wireless headphones”).
  • Details – brand, color, size, or anything that matters.
  • Links – optional store links to make it easy to buy.
  • Notes – anything else that will help someone pick the right version.
Who can see what?
  • Your own wishlist – you can see all of your items and their details, but you will not see who has claimed items for you (no spoilers).
  • Other people’s wishlists – family members can view each other’s wishlists to get ideas and claim gifts.
  • Claiming gifts – when someone claims an item, other parents can see that it’s taken so they don’t buy the same thing.
  • Children & surprises – children won’t see who claimed items on their own wishlist, which keeps the surprise for special occasions.
  • Parents – parents can usually see more detail (including claims) so they can coordinate gifts and avoid duplicates.
Tip: Keep your wishlist updated year-round. Adding ideas as you think of them makes birthdays and holidays easier for everyone.
